DESCRIPTION:Every Monday from 3:30p until 7p an experienced Dungeon Master will be running a D&D adventure for players with “little to no experience” in mind. Five (5) players maximum. \nSignups on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhat To Expect: The first thing your middle-schooler will do is create a character at the table right before they start their adventure\, so no pre-generated characters allowed.  All player characters are Human\, all Classes from the Players Handbook\, and no evil characters or character concepts. \nThe DM will guide all players through the procedures of rolling dice and role-playing a character. Every plot will have “PG” themes including heroism\, teamwork\, overcoming adversity\, creative problem-solving\, grace under pressure\, and honor. \nTo Be Ready for the Game: Players are encouraged\, to bring their own dice\, paper (eg. a journal)\, and/or pencils. Players are also encouraged to own a copy of the Player’s Handbook D&D 5th edition. Dice and Player’s Handbooks are available for purchase at The Missing Piece. \nCode of Conduct: The DM will require all players to show respect to everyone in the room\, and will encourage being patient\, listening to others\, and willing collaboration. The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) The DM will base all adventures in the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition world. The use of violence\, dishonesty\, conniving\, and magic allowed only in role play (& roll play). DESCRIPTION:Now that we’ve gotten to play with the new cards introduced in Dominaria United\, let’ s celebrate the history behind Dominaria with a themed Commander event! Players will be expected to have 100 card Commander decks with a Commander who is either from Dominaria\, or is strongly connected to it. For a good place to see if your Commander fits the criteria\, Click Here. Some good examples of valid Commanders for this event would be Gerrard\, Weatherlight Hero\, Volrath the Fallen\, or the Sliver Queen. \n5:30pm – Registration begins for players who didn’t sign up via our web. SUMMARY:Friday Night Magic Community Cube
DESCRIPTION:Join our amazing Magic community in The Missing Piece’s unique format: The Community Cube! In the past\, the cube only had enough cards to facilitate an 8 player draft\, but since the format has received so much positive feedback\, we’ve doubled the cube! Now we can have up to a 16 player draft\, or an 8 player sealed event! \nIn a community cube event\, players take charge of what cards the cube contains\, and it all starts before the event even begins. Rather than being charged an entry fee for the event\, each player will add 11 cards to the cube. These can be from the player’s own collection\, or they can always buy a booster pack and use 11 cards from that. Once the cards are added\, the event plays out like any other Limited format event. \n5:30pm – Registration begins. \n6:00pm – Drafting and Deckbuilding begins. Drafting will begin promptly at 6\, so make sure you arrive with enough time to register and buy any food or drink you may want to have beforehand. \n6:50pm – Pairings and Rounds begin. There will be three 50 minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! For this format\, our prizes work a little differently. Since each player added 11 cards to the cube at the beginning\, they also take 11 cards out of the cube at the end of the event. All players will get to pick from the cards in their respective card pools\, but the 1st place player of the event will be allowed to pick cards from the entirety of the cube! All participants will also get a promotional Magic card*\, and a Missing Pawn card to use during our Piecing It Together events! \n*While Supplies Lasts

DESCRIPTION:Is everything coming Unglued? Feeling a little Unhinged? Well have no fear! We at The Missing Piece are here to help take away that Unstable feeling with a special draft event. Don’t worry about whether or not it’s Unsanctioned though\, cause we’ll be going to Unfinity and BEYOND! \nLike any draft\, players will get 3 booster packs to open one at a time\, pick 1 card\, and pass the rest to the next player. What will be different is how many of the cards interact with each other\, as well as other players\, and who knows what else! Unfinity marks the first time that an Un-Set is printed with black borders. To tell if a card is legal for play in other formats\, look for an acorn-shaped icon at the bottom of the card. If that’s there\, then that card is NOT legal to use in formats like Modern or Commander. \n5:30pm – Registration begins for players that didn’t already sign up for the event through our website. \n6:00pm – Drafting and deck building begins. We start promptly at 6\, so please be sure to get to the shop with enough time to order any food or drinks you might want before hand. \n6:50pm – Rounds begin. DESCRIPTION:Join in the fun as The Missing Piece’s welcoming Magic community drafts and modifies the in-shop cube! Instead of an entry fee for the event\, players bring 11 cards to add to the Community Cube before the draft begins. \n5:30pm – Registration begins. \n6:00pm – Drafting and Deckbuilding begins. Drafting will begin promptly at 6\, so make sure you arrive with enough time to register and buy any food or drink you may want to have beforehand. \n6:50pm – Pairings and Rounds begin. There will be three 50 minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! All participants will get to take 11 cards from the cards they drafted during the event\, and can expect to receive an additional promotional Magic card. 1st place\, however\, will get to look through the entire cube to select their prizes. Players will also get a special card to use during our Piecing It Together event on Sundays.

Now that the Spooky Season is in full swing\, and All Hallows Eve is upon us\, we at The Missing Piece wanted to celebrate by adding some Halloween flare to this week’s Commander night by making it a costumed event! Costumes will be completely optional\, and there’s no special deck-building restrictions\, but players who come in costume\, and players who bring a suitably Halloween-themed deck will receive bonus points that go towards their ranking at the end of the event! You’ve been challenged to battle it out at The Missing Piece where we’re celebrating the release of the new Silver Tempest set for the Pokémon TCG! \nPlease sign up ahead of time on this page\, or at the register in store. Drinks and food available for purchase\, but please be ready to go at noon! \n12:00pm – Deckbuilding begins! Players will have 30 minutes to build a 40 card deck. Prerelease kits contain a premade deck and 5 booster packs. You can use any cards you pull from these packs to alter the deck as you see fit. You will also receive extra booster packs on us (amount depends on number of attendees). \n12:30pm – Round 1 begins! The event has three 50-minute rounds. SUMMARY:Friday Night Magic: Phyrexian Horde Commander
DESCRIPTION:Become a hero of Dominaria and face off against the Phyrexian hordes! Welcome to Horde Magic\, a special format where up to 4 players team up against a specially constructed semi-automated deck. The team will share a life total that varies depending on the number of players. Like in Two-Headed Giant\, the members of a team will share their turn and go through each step of a turn together. They will also have a certain number of extra turns before the Horde deck takes a turn depending on the number of members in the team. Below is the starting life total and how many turns a team will have\, depending on team size: \nTeam of 1: 30 life\, and 5 extra turns. Team of 2: 40 life\, and 4 extra turns. Team of 3: 50 life and 3 extra turns. Team of 4: 60 life and 1 extra turn. \nDuring the Horde deck’s turn\, they will operate under special rules. 1\, the deck is treated as having an infinite amount of mana of each color for the purposes of casting spells. 2\, During the Horde deck’s turn\, instead of drawing a card at the Draw Step\, it flips over a card. If the card is a Token (which make up a large percentage of the deck)\, that token is put into play\, and the Horde will flip over another card. This continues until the card flipped over is a spell card. Once a spell is revealed\, it is cast automatically\, regardless of timing. 3\, If the Horde deck would have cards in hand (for example\, from casting a spell that causes it to draw cards)\, it must try to cast all spell cards put into its hand. Tokens drawn this way will be exiled\, as tokens cannot exist in the hand. 4\, All creatures controlled by the Horde have haste\, and must attack each turn if able. attacks are made against the whole team\, and therefore any member of the team can have any of their creatures block attackers. 5\, The Horde has no life total. Instead\, whenever it is dealt damage\, it mills cards equal to the damage taken. 6\, The Horde deck loses when it runs out of cards in the deck. \nNormally\, the team would elect one of their teammates to go through the motions of the Horde deck’s turn\, but to help the event run smoothly\, the host of the event will be operating the deck instead. \n5:30 – Registration begins for players that didn’t register on our website. This is also a great time to grab some food and drinks while you’re waiting for the event to begin. \n6:00pm – Rounds begin! Each team will have 50 minutes to try and defeat the Horde deck. DESCRIPTION:What’s more fun than a White Elephant party? A White Elephant that ends with some great games of Magic: The Gathering of course! Jump Start the holiday season with us in this fun take on the draft format. How does it work? Well… \nBooster packs are set in the middle of the table. There are enough packs for each player to get two packs. Players take turns doing 1 of 3 actions: Take a pack from the middle\, steal a pack from another player\, or open a pack. Players cannot steal packs until all of the packs in the middle have been taken\, and once a pack has been opened\, it can only be stolen once\, and then never again. Once a player has 2 open packs that can’t be stolen\, they are no longer able to steal a pack. \n5:30pm – Registration begins for players who didn’t sign up via our website. This is also a great time so meet the other players and order food and drinks. \n6:00pm – Drafting and deck building begins! We’ll be starting this process exactly at 6\, so please arrive promptly if you can. \n6:50pm – Rounds begin. There will be three 50 minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place will get booster packs. 4th\, 5th\, 6th\, 7th\, and 8th will get promo packs. All participants will get a promotional Magic card as well as a Missing Pawn card to use during our Piecing It Together Events.

Once a player has 4 open packs that can’t be stolen\, they are no longer able to steal a pack\, and once all players have 4 open packs in front of them\, the draft is over! Players then take 2 of their 4 packs and shuffle them together\, creating their first deck\, and repeat the process with their other 2 packs to make their second deck.
