DESCRIPTION:Join in the fun as The Missing Piece’s welcoming Magic community drafts and modifies the in-shop cube! Instead of an entry fee for the event\, players bring 11 cards to add to the Community Cube before the draft begins. \n5:30pm – Registration begins. \n6:00pm – Drafting and Deckbuilding begins. Drafting will begin promptly at 6\, so make sure you arrive with enough time to register and buy any food or drink you may want to have beforehand. \n6:50pm – Pairings and Rounds begin. There will be three 50 minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! SUMMARY:Dungeons & Dragons (for Middle Schoolers)
DESCRIPTION:Every Monday from 3:30p until 7p an experienced Dungeon Master will be running a D&D adventure for players with “little to no experience” in mind. Five (5) players maximum. \nSignups on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhat To Expect: The first thing your middle-schooler will do is create a character at the table right before they start their adventure\, so no pre-generated characters allowed.  All player characters are Human\, all Classes from the Players Handbook\, and no evil characters or character concepts. \nThe DM will guide all players through the procedures of rolling dice and role-playing a character. Every plot will have “PG” themes including heroism\, teamwork\, overcoming adversity\, creative problem-solving\, grace under pressure\, and honor. \nTo Be Ready for the Game: Players are encouraged\, to bring their own dice\, paper (eg. a journal)\, and/or pencils. Players are also encouraged to own a copy of the Player’s Handbook D&D 5th edition. Dice and Player’s Handbooks are available for purchase at The Missing Piece. \nCode of Conduct: The DM will require all players to show respect to everyone in the room\, and will encourage being patient\, listening to others\, and willing collaboration. The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) The DM will base all adventures in the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition world. The use of violence\, dishonesty\, conniving\, and magic allowed only in role play (& roll play). The DM may or may not give second chances. \nPlayers are required to have all cell phones\, tablets\, & laptops turned off during gameplay. \nThe phone number of a parent (or responsible adult) is required by the DM prior to the game starting. A parent is required to indicate if a minor child is or is not allowed to walk home unescorted from the shop. \n

Drafting will begin promptly at 6\, so make sure you arrive with enough time to register and buy any food or drink you may want to have beforehand. \n6:50pm – Pairings and Rounds begin. There will be three 50 minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! DESCRIPTION:Many people (including Magic’s own Mark Rosewater) have been attributed to some variation of the the quote\, “restriction breeds creativity”. Let’s put that idea to the test by placing a rarity restriction on our Commander players. In Pauper Commander\, players must build a deck using only cards that have been printed at the common rarity\, which is denoted with a black set symbol on the card. The only exception is their Commander\, which must be a legendary creature (or other legendary card that specifically says it can be your Commander) that has been printed at the uncommon rarity\, which has a silver set symbol. \n5:30pm – Registration begins for any players that did not sign up ahead of time through our website. \n6:00pm – Round 1 begins! There will be two 90 minute rounds. During each round\, players will earn points through an achievement system. A player’s total accumulated points will determine their placing at the end of the event. \nAround 9:00pm – Prizes are awarded. 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place will receive Booster Packs. 4th\, 5th\, 6th\, 7th\, and 8th place will receive Promo Packs. All participants will also get a promotional Magic card\, and a Missing Pawn card they can use during our Piecing It Together events on Sundays.

DESCRIPTION:As we’re about to return to the center of the MTG multiverse\, why not celebrate early with a call back to the beginnings of Commander? Players will be required to have their commander be one of the following cards: Nicol Bolas\, Nicol Bolas\, The Ravager\, Arcades Sabboth\, Arcades\, The Strategist \, Chromium\, Chromium\, the Mutable\, Palladia-Mors\, Palladia-Mors\, The Ruiner\, Vaevictus Asmadi\, or Vaevictus Asmadi\, The Dire. This is because when the format was first created\, the only legal commanders were the original 5 Elder Dragons. We will also be playing with the ancient rule of mana burn. This means if you lose any mana by moving to a new step or phase of a turn\, you take 1 point of damage for each mana lost. Dice and Player’s Handbooks are available for purchase at The Missing Piece. \nCode of Conduct: The DM will require all players to show respect to everyone in the room\, and will encourage being patient\, listening to others\, and willing collaboration. The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) The DM will base all adventures in the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition world. The use of violence\, dishonesty\, conniving\, and magic allowed only in role play (& roll play). The DM may or may not give second chances. \nPlayers are required to have all cell phones\, tablets\, & laptops turned off during gameplay. \nThe phone number of a parent (or responsible adult) is required by the DM prior to the game starting. A parent is required to indicate if a minor child is or is not allowed to walk home unescorted from the shop. \n

DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Magic’s return to Dominaria\, and choose your sides as the plane prepares itself once more to go to war with Pyrexia. No matter how the story unfolds\, the community at The Missing Piece will be the place to be for a great time during this Prerelease weekend! During a prerelease event\, players will receive a kit containing 6 booster packs with which to build a 40 card deck\, and then see how well they do over the course of three rounds before prizes are awarded. \n5:30pm – Registration begins for players who didn’t sign up via our web. This is also a great time so meet the other players and order food and drinks. \n6:00pm – Pack opening and deck building begins! We’ll be starting this process exactly at 6\, so please arrive promptly if you can. \n6:50pm – Rounds begin. There will be three 50 minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place will get booster packs. 4th\, 5th\, 6th\, 7th\, and 8th will get promo packs. All participants will get a promotional Magic card as well as a Missing Pawn card to use during our Piecing It Together Events.
