DESCRIPTION:It’s our first ever Game of the Month!  We’ve selected Ten published by AEG for our first of many amazing titles to bring to your attention with a monthly special. Ten is a simple card game that you can pick up easily after just a few rounds of jumping in.  It combines elements of pushing-your-luck\, collecting runs to score points and managing your currency tokens between purchasing cards from the market and winning bidding wars for wild cards. Although the game only came out late last year\, we’ve already played countless times here at The Missing Piece and we still can’t get enough. \nThis event is a Casual Play event where you can get some practice runs in before our Tournament at the end of the month!  If you missed our Learn-to-play event at the beginning of the month\, we will teach you the game – free of charge.  It only takes about a half hour to get through a game\, so swing on by and join us in playing this hot new title in the card game world.  Throughout the month\, you can get 10% off of Ten at The Missing Piece. \nCheck our calendar for the grand finale Ten Tournament at the end of the month.  It’s free to enter\, and we have a nifty little prize for the winner. \n

DESCRIPTION:Past and future collide\, clash\, and compete in this setting-themed Commander event! Players will come in with decks built around commanders that are from the plane of Kamigawa. Commanders can be from the original Kamigawa  Champions of Kamigawa\, Betrayers of Kamigawa\, Saviors of Kamigawa\, Kamigawa Neon Dynasty\, any legendary creatures released in commander products that are known to be from Kamigawa such as O-Kagachi\, Vengeful Kami or Kaseto\, Orochi Archmage\, or a legendary creature from another plane that has ties to Kamigawa\, such as Tetsuo Umezawa\, and Tetsuko Umezawa\, Fugitive. \n5:30pm – Registration begins \n6:00pm – Rounds begin. There will be two 90 minute rounds where players can accumulate points. So Clover is a cooperative and creative word game that’s a snap to learn and will have you stretching the limits of your vocabulary\, historical and pop culture references in search of the perfect clues for your teammates.  The premise is simple: you get a clover-shaped dry-erase board that you randomly slot word cards onto.  Each leaf of your four-leaf clover will then have 2 seemingly unrelated words attached to it.  Your task is to come up with single-word clues that bridge the gap between these unrelated terms.  If you’re a fan of Codenames\, you’ll know exactly how the challenge works.  Your clover cards will be removed and shuffled before presenting them to your teammates to reassemble correctly.  Trust us\, it’s a blast!  And we’re happy to walk you through the ins-and-outs of it at this month’s events! \nThis event is a Learn-to-Play event where we will teach you the game – free of charge.  It only takes about a half hour to get through a game\, so swing on by and join us to learn this totally St. Patty’s Day appropriate title in the gaming world.  Throughout the month\, you can get 10% off of So Clover at The Missing Piece\, but when you finish learning the game from us\, we’ll sweeten the deal to 15% off if you want to pick it up right away. \nCheck our calendar for the other Saturdays this month to join us for casual play as well as our grand finale So Clover Tournament at the end of the month.  It’s free to enter\, and we will have a nifty little prize for the winner. \n

SUMMARY:Friday Night Magic: Community Cube
DESCRIPTION:Play and collaborate with our MTG community by joining us for an exciting draft event using the one and only Missing Piece Community Cube! Instead of assembling a set of cards that are rarely (if ever) edited\, this cube is constantly changing to meet the needs of the community. Players will bring 11 cards with them into the draft\, either from their own collection\, or they can buy a set booster pack from our barista\, and simply remove the basic land card from the cards provided. Those cards are then sleeved and permanently added to the cube. Once the cards are sleeved\, players will draft from the cube as normal\, and at the end of the event\, since each player put 11 cards into the cube\, they will get to take 11 cards of their choice out of the cube! \n5:30pm – Registration begins. \n6:00pm – Drafting and deck construction begins! Players will have 50 minutes to draft\, and build their decks. \n6:50pm – Rounds begin! There will be three 50-minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! Due to the nature of this event\, prizes are handled a little differently. All players will be able to select up to 11 cards from the cards they drafted during the event\, but the 1st place player will be able to select from any card in the cube that hasn’t already been picked. DESCRIPTION:The excitement! The intrigue! Experience it all in this limited availability draft event! For those of you who missed their chance to draft in this format last year\, or for people who yearn to re-live it\, come on down to The Missing Piece for a chaotic draft experience where players will get to play with cards from all across the 28 year history of this brilliant game (as well as a few new cards cooked up by those mad scientists in R&D)! \n5:30pm – Registration begins for players that haven’t signed up through our website. \n6:00pm – Drafting and deckbuilding begins! SUMMARY:Game of the Month: So Clover - Casual Play
DESCRIPTION:For March\, we’ve selected So Clover! published by Repos Production as our official Game of the Month! So Clover is a cooperative and creative word game that’s a snap to learn and will have you stretching the limits of your vocabulary\, historical and pop culture references in search of the perfect clues for your teammates.  The premise is simple: you get a clover-shaped dry-erase board that you randomly slot word cards onto.  Each leaf of your four-leaf clover will then have 2 seemingly unrelated words attached to it.  Your task is to come up with single-word clues that bridge the gap between these unrelated terms.  If you’re a fan of Codenames\, you’ll know exactly how the challenge works.  Your clover cards will be removed and shuffled before presenting them to your teammates to reassemble correctly.  Trust us\, it’s a blast!  And we’re happy to walk you through the ins-and-outs of it at this month’s events! \nThis event is a Casual Play event where you can get some practice runs in before our Tournament at the end of the month!  If you missed our Learn-to-play event at the beginning of the month\, we will teach you the game – free of charge.  It only takes about a half hour to get through a game\, so swing on by and join us in playing this awesomely appropriate game for St. Patty’s Day.  Throughout the month\, you can get 10% off of So Clover at The Missing Piece. \nCheck our calendar for the grand finale So Clover Tournament at the end of the month.  It’s free to enter\, and we have a nifty little prize for the winner. \n

DESCRIPTION:Every Monday from 3:30pm until 7:00pm\, an experienced Dungeon Master will be running one-shot D&D adventures for players with “little to no experience.” Five (5) players maximum. \nSignups on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhat To Expect: The DM will cover all the basic procedures of rolling dice and walk players through role-playing a character. The DM will aim every story to “PG” themes including heroism\, teamwork\, overcoming adversity\, creative problem-solving\, grace under pressure\, and honor. The DM will require all players to show respect to everyone in the room\, and will be encouraging being patient\, listening to others\, and willingly collaborating. The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) The DM will be basing all in-game races\, classes\, rules\, and mechanics on the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition books. The use of violence\, dishonesty\, conniving\, and magic allowed only in role play. The DM may or may not give second chances. \nTo Be Ready for the Game: The phone number of a parent (or responsible adult) is required prior to the game starting for minor children. A parent is required to indicate if a minor child is allowed to walk home unescorted from the game shop. Players are required to have all cell phones\, tablets\, & laptops turned off during gameplay. \nPlayers are encouraged\, to bring their own dice\, paper (ie. a journal)\, and/or pencils. Players are also encouraged to own a copy of the Player’s Handbook D&D 5th edition.   All of these supplies are available for purchase at The Missing Piece. \n

SUMMARY:Game of the Month: Dice Throne - Learn to Play
DESCRIPTION:For April\, we’ve selected Dice Throne as our official Game of the Month! Dice Throne is an epic dice battle game that will have you have you feeling like you already know the rules if you’ve ever played either Yahtzee or Magic: The Gathering. The object of the game is to reduce your opponent(s) health to 0 before they do the same to you.  All of your attacks will involve you rolling your five custom dice – specific to the hero you’ve selected.  You’ll be going for mostly traditional Yahtzee-style combos (small straights\, -of-a-kinds\, etc.).  Through the use of clever card play you can also manipulate the dice to your favor. Believe us\, you’ll never quite feel the thrill of getting your Ultimate ability triggered (rolling five 6’s) from other dice games.  It’s an adrenaline rush! \nThis event is a Learn-to-Play event where we will teach you the game – free of charge.  It only takes about a half hour to get through a game\, so swing on by and bring a friend to show who’s boss.  Throughout the month\, you can get 10% off of Dice Throne at The Missing Piece\, but when you finish learning the game from us\, we’ll sweeten the deal with an extra 5% off if you want to pick it up right away. \nCheck our calendar for the other Saturdays this month to join us for casual play as well as our grand finale Dice Throne Tournament at the end of the month.  It’s free to enter\, and we will have a nifty little prize for the winner. \n

This is Fifth Edition Adventurers League legal play. If you don’t know what this means\, no problem. Come in a little early and we can help get you started.  Grab your ticket to the event below. \nRules: \n\nCharacters must be level 1-4\, and use point-buy or standard array.\nCharacters may not have any trait or feature that allows flying at-will (spells and items ok).\nPlayer vs. player scenarios will not be allowed.\nPlayers are expected to treat each other with respect and actively cooperate on their quests.  The DM reserves the right to dismiss players at their discretion.\nMinors may participate but a parent or guardian must be present (or alternatively\, check out our kids D&D on Mondays)\n\n
