SUMMARY:Friday Night Magic Doubles Commander
DESCRIPTION:After having so much fun with Double Masters\, let’s really double down and play a themed version of The Missing Piece’s favorite format: Commander! This is a Two-Headed Giant event\, so players will form teams of 2 and should have decks with Commanders that were featured in either of the Double Masters sets. Teams will start the game with and shared 60 life and face off against each other in a best-of-1 game each round. Don’t forget! In a Two-Headed Giant game\, you and your teammate take your turns at the same time. You are allowed to show each other your cards and plan your moves with each other\, but you cannot give your teammate mana (unless a card specifically says you can). Each player at the table is counted separately for card effects that mention “each player” or similar language\, so if you cast a spell that deals 2 damage to “each opponent”\, then each teammate on the opposing team takes 2 damage\, and their life total drops by a total of 4. \n5:30pm – Registration begins for players who haven’t already signed up through our website. \n6:00pm – Round 1 begins! There will be two 90 minute rounds. \nAround 9:00pm – Prizes are awarded! Teams that place in 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd will get Booster Packs. Teams that placed in 4th\, 5th\, 6th\, 7th\, and 8th will get Promo Packs\, and all players will get a promotional Magic card and a Missing Pawn card to use at our Piecing It Together events on Sundays.

DESCRIPTION:Every Monday from 3:30p until 7p an experienced Dungeon Master will be running a D&D adventure for players with “little to no experience” in mind. Five (5) players maximum. \nSignups on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhat To Expect: The first thing your middle-schooler will do is create a character at the table right before they start their adventure\, so no pre-generated characters allowed.  All player characters are Human\, all Classes from the Players Handbook\, and no evil characters or character concepts. \nThe DM will guide all players through the procedures of rolling dice and role-playing a character. Every plot will have “PG” themes including heroism\, teamwork\, overcoming adversity\, creative problem-solving\, grace under pressure\, and honor. \nTo Be Ready for the Game: Players are encouraged\, to bring their own dice\, paper (eg. a journal)\, and/or pencils. Players are also encouraged to own a copy of the Player’s Handbook D&D 5th edition. Dice and Player’s Handbooks are available for purchase at The Missing Piece. \nCode of Conduct: The DM will require all players to show respect to everyone in the room\, and will encourage being patient\, listening to others\, and willing collaboration. The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) The DM will base all adventures in the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition world. The use of violence\, dishonesty\, conniving\, and magic allowed only in role play (& roll play). The DM may or may not give second chances. \nPlayers are required to have all cell phones\, tablets\, & laptops turned off during gameplay. \nThe phone number of a parent (or responsible adult) is required by the DM prior to the game starting. A parent is required to indicate if a minor child is or is not allowed to walk home unescorted from the shop. \n

The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) DESCRIPTION:Welcome Planeswalkers! Bring your favorite deck and see how you fair against everyone else in the chaotic battlefield of Commander! \n5:30 – Registration begins for players that didn’t register on our website. This is also a great time to grab some food and drinks while you’re waiting for the event to begin. \n6:00pm – Rounds begin! There will be two 90 minute rounds\, during which\, players will compete for achievement points. Points will carry over from round to round and determine what prizes a player is awarded. \nAround 9:00pm – Prizes are awarded! 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place will get booster packs. 4th\, 5th\, 6th\, 7th\, and 8th will get Promo Packs\, and all players will receive a promotional Magic card* as well as a Missing Pawn card that can be used during our Piecing It Together events on Sundays! \n* While supplies last.

SUMMARY:Dungeons & Dragons (for Middle Schoolers)
DESCRIPTION:Every Monday from 3:30pm until 7:00pm\, an experienced Dungeon Master will be running one-shot D&D adventures for players with “little to no experience.” Five (5) players maximum. \nSignups on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhat To Expect: The DM will cover all the basic procedures of rolling dice and walk players through role-playing a character. The DM will aim every story to “PG” themes including heroism\, teamwork\, overcoming adversity\, creative problem-solving\, grace under pressure\, and honor. The DM will require all players to show respect to everyone in the room\, and will be encouraging being patient\, listening to others\, and willingly collaborating. The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) The DM will be basing all in-game races\, classes\, rules\, and mechanics on the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition books. The use of violence\, dishonesty\, conniving\, and magic allowed only in role play. The DM may or may not give second chances. \nTo Be Ready for the Game: The phone number of a parent (or responsible adult) is required prior to the game starting for minor children. A parent is required to indicate if a minor child is allowed to walk home unescorted from the game shop. Players are required to have all cell phones\, tablets\, & laptops turned off during gameplay. \nPlayers are encouraged\, to bring their own dice\, paper (ie. a journal)\, and/or pencils. Players are also encouraged to own a copy of the Player’s Handbook D&D 5th edition.   All of these supplies are available for purchase at The Missing Piece. \n
