SUMMARY:Dungeons & Dragons (for Middle Schoolers)
DESCRIPTION:Every Monday from 3:30pm until 7:00pm\, an experienced Dungeon Master will be running one-shot D&D adventures for players with “little to no experience.” Five (5) players maximum. \nSignups on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhat To Expect: The DM will cover all the basic procedures of rolling dice and walk players through role-playing a character. The DM will aim every story to “PG” themes including heroism\, teamwork\, overcoming adversity\, creative problem-solving\, grace under pressure\, and honor. The DM will require all players to show respect to everyone in the room\, and will be encouraging being patient\, listening to others\, and willingly collaborating. The DM will not allow abusive language\, derogatory terms\, or “I was just joking” aimed at anyone in the room\, (although monsters and villains are fair game.) The DM will be basing all in-game races\, classes\, rules\, and mechanics on the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition books. The use of violence\, dishonesty\, conniving\, and magic allowed only in role play. The DM may or may not give second chances. \nTo Be Ready for the Game: The phone number of a parent (or responsible adult) is required prior to the game starting for minor children. A parent is required to indicate if a minor child is allowed to walk home unescorted from the game shop. Players are required to have all cell phones\, tablets\, & laptops turned off during gameplay. \nPlayers are encouraged\, to bring their own dice\, paper (ie. a journal)\, and/or pencils. Players are also encouraged to own a copy of the Player’s Handbook D&D 5th edition.   All of these supplies are available for purchase at The Missing Piece. \n

All your word battles this month has led to our Dice Throne Tournament! \nThe tournament will be friendly and set up so everyone can enjoy multiple games together. \n12:45pm – Final setup and registration\n1:00pm – First round of tournament begins\n4:00 – Guaranteed end of event and awarding of the prize! \nThrone is an epic dice battle game that will have you have you feeling like you already know the rules if you’ve ever played either Yahtzee or Magic: The Gathering. The object of the game is to reduce your opponent(s) health to 0 before they do the same to you.  All of your attacks will involve you rolling your five custom dice – specific to the hero you’ve selected.  You’ll be going for mostly traditional Yahtzee-style combos (small straights\, -of-a-kinds\, etc.).  Through the use of clever card play you can also manipulate the dice to your favor. Believe us\, you’ll never quite feel the thrill of getting your Ultimate ability triggered (rolling five 6’s) from other dice games.  It’s an adrenaline rush! \n

DESCRIPTION:Every Monday from 3:30pm until 7:00pm\, an experienced Dungeon Master will be running one-shot D&D adventures for players with “little to no experience.” Five (5) players maximum. \nSignups on a first come\, first served basis. \nWhat To Expect: The DM will cover all the basic procedures of rolling dice and walk players through role-playing a character. The DM will aim every story to “PG” themes including heroism\, teamwork\, overcoming adversity\, creative problem-solving\, grace under pressure\, and honor. DESCRIPTION:For April\, we’ve selected Dice Throne as our official Game of the Month! Dice Throne is an epic dice battle game that will have you have you feeling like you already know the rules if you’ve ever played either Yahtzee or Magic: The Gathering. The object of the game is to reduce your opponent(s) health to 0 before they do the same to you.  All of your attacks will involve you rolling your five custom dice – specific to the hero you’ve selected.  You’ll be going for mostly traditional Yahtzee-style combos (small straights\, -of-a-kinds\, etc.).  Through the use of clever card play you can also manipulate the dice to your favor. Believe us\, you’ll never quite feel the thrill of getting your Ultimate ability triggered (rolling five 6’s) from other dice games.  It’s an adrenaline rush! \nThis event is a Casual Play event where you can get some practice runs in before our Tournament at the end of the month!  If you missed our Learn-to-play event at the beginning of the month\, we will teach you the game – free of charge.  It only takes about a half hour to get through a game\, so swing on by and bring a friend to show who’s boss.  Throughout the month\, you can get 10% off of Dice Throne at The Missing Piece. \nCheck our calendar for the grand finale Dice Throne Tournament at the end of the month.  It’s free to enter\, and we have a nifty little prize for the winner. \n

Dice Throne is an epic dice battle game that will have you have you feeling like you already know the rules if you’ve ever played either Yahtzee or Magic: The Gathering. The object of the game is to reduce your opponent(s) health to 0 before they do the same to you.  All of your attacks will involve you rolling your five custom dice – specific to the hero you’ve selected.  You’ll be going for mostly traditional Yahtzee-style combos (small straights\, -of-a-kinds\, etc.).  Through the use of clever card play you can also manipulate the dice to your favor. Believe us\, you’ll never quite feel the thrill of getting your Ultimate ability triggered (rolling five 6’s) from other dice games.  It’s an adrenaline rush! \nThis event is a Learn-to-Play event where we will teach you the game – free of charge.  It only takes about a half hour to get through a game\, so swing on by and bring a friend to show who’s boss.  Throughout the month\, you can get 10% off of Dice Throne at The Missing Piece\, but when you finish learning the game from us\, we’ll sweeten the deal with an extra 5% off if you want to pick it up right away. \nCheck our calendar for the other Saturdays this month to join us for casual play as well as our grand finale Dice Throne Tournament at the end of the month.  It’s free to enter\, and we will have a nifty little prize for the winner. \n

SUMMARY:Friday Night Magic Community Cube
DESCRIPTION:Join in the fun as The Missing Piece’s welcoming Magic community drafts and modifies the in-shop cube! Instead of an entry fee for the event\, players bring 11 cards to add to the Community Cube before the draft begins. \n5:30pm – Registration begins. \n6:00pm – Drafting and Deckbuilding begins. Drafting will begin promptly at 6\, so make sure you arrive with enough time to register and buy any food or drink you may want to have beforehand. \n6:50pm – Pairings and Rounds begin. There will be three 50 minute rounds. \nAround 9:45pm – Prizes are awarded! All participants will get to take 11 cards from the cards they drafted during the event\, and can expect to receive an additional promotional Magic card*. 1st place\, however\, will get to look through the entire cube to select their prizes. Players will also get a Pawn card to use during our Piecing It Together event on Sundays. \n*While Supplies Lasts

This is Fifth Edition Adventurers League legal play. If you don’t know what this means\, no problem.
