SUMMARY:Friday Night Magic: Phyrexian Horde Commander
DESCRIPTION:Become a hero of Dominaria and face off against the Phyrexian hordes! Welcome to Horde Magic\, a special format where up to 4 players team up against a specially constructed semi-automated deck. The team will share a life total that varies depending on the number of players. Like in Two-Headed Giant\, the members of a team will share their turn and go through each step of a turn together. They will also have a certain number of extra turns before the Horde deck takes a turn depending on the number of members in the team. Below is the starting life total and how many turns a team will have\, depending on team size: \nTeam of 1: 30 life\, and 5 extra turns. Team of 2: 40 life\, and 4 extra turns. Team of 3: 50 life and 3 extra turns. Team of 4: 60 life and 1 extra turn. \nDuring the Horde deck’s turn\, they will operate under special rules. 1\, the deck is treated as having an infinite amount of mana of each color for the purposes of casting spells. 2\, During the Horde deck’s turn\, instead of drawing a card at the Draw Step\, it flips over a card. If the card is a Token (which make up a large percentage of the deck)\, that token is put into play\, and the Horde will flip over another card. This continues until the card flipped over is a spell card. Once a spell is revealed\, it is cast automatically\, regardless of timing. 3\, If the Horde deck would have cards in hand (for example\, from casting a spell that causes it to draw cards)\, it must try to cast all spell cards put into its hand. Tokens drawn this way will be exiled\, as tokens cannot exist in the hand. 4\, All creatures controlled by the Horde have haste\, and must attack each turn if able. attacks are made against the whole team\, and therefore any member of the team can have any of their creatures block attackers. 5\, The Horde has no life total. Instead\, whenever it is dealt damage\, it mills cards equal to the damage taken. 6\, The Horde deck loses when it runs out of cards in the deck. \nNormally\, the team would elect one of their teammates to go through the motions of the Horde deck’s turn\, but to help the event run smoothly\, the host of the event will be operating the deck instead. \n5:30 – Registration begins for players that didn’t register on our website. This is also a great time to grab some food and drinks while you’re waiting for the event to begin. \n6:00pm – Rounds begin! Each team will have 50 minutes to try and defeat the Horde deck. During those 50 minutes\, teammates can score points to determine the prizes their team earns at the end of the event. \nAround 9:30pm – Prizes are awarded! Members of the 1st place team will receive booster packs. Members of the 2nd place team will receive promo packs. All participants will receive a promotional Magic card*\, and a Missing Pawn card to use during our Piecing It Together events on Sundays. \n* While supplies last.

DESCRIPTION:It’s time to choose a side! In this event\, participants will form 2-player teams. Each round\, your team will follow either Urza\, or his brother\, Mishra. Your team will play with your leader’s Vanguard card (Links in their names). \nWhen playing with a Vanguard card\, your team will have its life total and/or hand size changed depending on who your Vanguard is. You’ll also have access to a unique ability. Otherwise\, like a Planeswalker Emblem\, there is no way to interact with a Vanguard card. \nSince we’re playing with a couple of optional rules already\, there won’t be any special deck building restrictions\, so feel free to bring your favorite decks with you! \n5:30 – Registration begins for players that didn’t register on our website. This is also a great time to grab some food and drinks while you’re waiting for the event to begin. \n6:00pm – Rounds begin!
